Basically I'm a graphic designer and neuroscientist who became a passionate hobby-photographer. At least that's the short story. The slightly longer one reads as follows: Growing up in a family of designers, I was practically inherited with a fascination for the aesthetics of things. However, after following my parents path and completing an apprenticeship in photography and subsequently graphic design, my life finally made some unexpected twists and turns and led me to a career in science. Yet for me peronally, the artistic view on life has never been in conflict with the scientific one. Rather, they’ve always complemented each other, forming two pieces of the same puzzle. So it came that my path into the realms of science only deepened my fascination for the beauty within the seemingly mundane. May it be the robin, which fearlessly settles on a railing nearby. May it be the expression of joy, interest, wonder or gratitude within a persons face. May it be the swan, which appears to look at its reflection in gloomy waters. May it be the clouds that seem to drown within whirlwinds of fire upon sparkling city lights. Or may it be the world of the tiniest creatures that make their way within our gardens between plants and forests and seem to live in their very own little parallel universe, whose existence we far too seldom even glimpse. For years my old DSLR camera gathered murky dust in the forgotten depths among my shelves. It was not until the corona pandemic ultimately made its way to Germany and the boredom in the wake of lockdowns took hold, that I finally grabbed my camera for the first time in many years and went out into nature. And so my passion for photography finally underwent a true renaissance which continues unchanged to this day. Thank you for visiting my website!
